An island girl’s cottage
“I only buy things for the shop that I personally love.”
Calypso Cottage reflects the eye of its owner, Stacie Hill Meislohn: a lifelong coastal girl with a jeweler’s eye and a retailer’s instinct.
From the Vineyard to the tin roof
Her dad owned Saltwater Sportsman magazine; her mother held numerous big gamefish records. The ocean was always home.
Opened in Palm Beach and an immediate success.
Courrèges, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent on Worth Avenue, then Tiffany & Co. in New York, including time in jewelry under designer Elsa Peretti.
Stacie, her husband Pete and their mini dachshunds left NY for the Outer Banks, spotted a weathered cottage at the entrance to Beaufort’s main road and thought, “what a perfect spot for a shop!”
Once an insider’s secret, now discovered through Instagram and the website. We dare you to leave empty handed.

Our front room became a Hat Bar, with custom shaping and branding, a favorite for self-expression and travel style.
Small makers & her own designs
The shop champions small female artisans from South America, Mexico, India and Africa, alongside hard-to-find treasures and well-edited major brands.
Stacie designs her own one-of-a-kind and limited-edition jewelry, from gemstone and gold-filled pieces to fine jewelry with diamonds and South Sea pearls, including coastal oyster charm necklaces.
